Location: vegetable garden

Origin: North America; developed in Minnesota

Description:

  • 3-4 feet tall. Leaves turn crimson in fall
  • early season with sweet, aromatic, medium size berries;
  • companion to Northblue, Northsky or Chippewa
  • require 800 to 1000 chill hours to set fruit.

Maintenance:  Check PH; did not do well first year or two; circled with peat moss and blueberry fertilizer from NOFA 4/12/15.
